We all get little panicky with the term ‘dengue’. Isn’t it? Well, this is quite normal because dengue is a serious illness caused by a mosquito named Aedes Aegypti. This mosquito is cruel and is solely responsible for spreading the illness among human beings with its poisonous bite. If you get cold feet with dengue then I can imagine how you’ll react to Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) which is similar to dengue fever. But, the complications are more severe compared to dengue fever. DHF is caused by the same mosquito and is characterized by increased vascular permeability, hypovolaemia and abnormal blood clotting. Once a person is infected by DHF, after a few days, he or she will be bad-tempered, agitated and sweaty. Before getting into the intricacies of the disease it’s really important to know the symptoms that need to be dealt with attention before it becomes lethal.
Symptoms of DHF
We all know that there are more than one symptoms that can indicate and aware a person of this deadly disease. Though the initial symptoms of DHF are like dengue fever. To know more, keep reading below:
- Bleeding under the skin
- Loss of appetite
- Muscle & Joint pain
- Shock symptoms like coldness, sweating and so on.
The above-mentioned symptoms occur at the early stage which leads to acute problems if not checked on time. For instance, the bleeding becomes visible as tiny spots of blood on the skin known as ‘petechiae’ and larger patches of blood under the skin known as ‘ecchymoses’. And also, leads to shock-like states such as sweating, coldness and many more. Moreover, the serious symptoms of DHF usually grow after an infected person starts to recover from the virus of dengue.
DHF and its Effects on Human Beings
DHF brings in a lot of complications on human beings. I’ll give you a clearer picture here:
- Seizure– This is usually a sudden attack of illness like a stroke or an epileptic fit. This is common among infants, kids, adults and seniors. DHF causes one of these complications which is absolutely not desirable among anyone for its deadly effects.
- Brain damage– As we all know the brain is the sole organ of our body which is responsible for our living. And DHF can cause issues which can cause damage to the brain that will make anyone’s living problematic.
The other complications include liver, lungs and heart problems. Sometimes, if an infected person doesn’t pay attention at the initial stage then DHF may turn fatal and cause death among people. So, it’s always wise to take precautions beforehand to keep complications away and live happy and healthy.
